Lorenz in der Alten Mühle fuses local hospitality with an Asian twist. Restaurant, bar and Japanese-inspired robatayaki grill: Chefs, they say, are artists – more than just local food at Lorenz Maria Grießer and his team.

A real buzz has returned to the Alte Mühle in Scharnitz. After years of international star cuisine and catering experience, top chef Lorenz Maria Grießer has taken charge of this culinary perpetuum mobile. But the charm of the traditional eatery and popular beer garden will remain unchanged.

From 12:00 to 14:00 and 17:30 to 21:00, we serve our à‑la‑carte creations. Enjoy delicacies from meadow, river, and beyond – or try our Special Cut, carefully matured and crafted for exceptional taste experiences.

Lorenz and May Ann have a soft spot for exquisite drinks.

Aside from the classics, the bar menu offers an excellent selection of wines and sake variations. In the Experience category, May Ann combines traditional cocktail recipes with Far Eastern flavours and textures. Lorenz Maria Grießer is an Ambassador for Gansloser Black Gin and Rum.

Robatayaki – Japanese for ‘fireplace’ – celebrates the fine art of gentle grilling.

The in-house dry aging cabinet is used to mature the premium meat to perfection. Diners can choose from T-bone steaks, tomahawk steaks, fillets and meat for burgers & co. straight from the grill.
